A back to brick refurbishment with a rear&side extension to create an open-plan living, kitchen and dining area for a Victorian house in West London.
The aim was to extend and improve the property to achieve its maximum potential in the West Ealing conservation area.
A rear extension has been proposed to create an open living area at the ground floor level leading to the rear garden. The two-storey side extension is mimicking the neighbour to unify the whole terrace and bring extra space for a family.
The extended volumes are cladded externally with the London stock brick to match the existing facade and an increased amount of natural light brought a new life to this spectacular house equipped for modern family living.
The combined kitchen and dining area opens to the garden, while the lounge occupies the front of the property. The traditional style bathroom is situated at the ground floor level. House features two large skylights, a vertical side window and a patio sliding door. Simple finishes complement the exposed brick wall, the floor is covered by concrete and the walls are painted white, while the Kitchen cabinets are a combination of a dark and light colour.
Traditional entrance with herringbone style timber floor, dark walls are reminding the origin of the house. An exposed staircase leads towards the first floor and features two storey vertical side window which brings more natural light to the whole space.
The second-floor master bedroom with an open ceiling, guest room and bedroom feature original brick walls that have been left exposed. Contemporary style Bathroom is an addition that completes the overall modern look of the Victorian Villa.

Remodelling of an existing wrap around extension and partial refurbishment of a Victorian End of Terrace house in East London to create a sequence of more contemporary spaces with the green roof.
The project brief was to replace the outdated existing conservatory, kitchen extension, garage and utility and create a seamless unified contemporary space with connection to the rear garden.
The new wrap-around extension is matching the footprint of the existing additions of the house. Extension to the rear of the property contains a kitchen and dining leading to the garden while side extension consists of the garage and utility. The new modern bathroom replaced the existing small shower room and toilet.
The single-storey volume is clad externally in an anthracite grey brick that contrasts with the original façade’s London stock brick. Skylights and a wide sliding patio door allow daylight to enter the space deep inside the house while maintaining privacy.
The new flat roof features a green roof that is blanketed by a surface of plants and wildflowers and bringing visual warmth and connection with the rear garden.

Small from the outside but spacious from the inside. Behind the exterior walls of this London loft extension is hidden a generously sized Bedroom with an Ensuite.
The brief was to transform an old attic floor of the semi-detached in north London into new living spaces including a Bedroom with an En-Suite and extra storage space for a young family.
The sloping roof presented an issue with head-height, which have been resolved by building a dormer with a Juliet balcony towards the rear garden that spans partially across the property. This new addition creates a flat ceiling for the new Bedroom. En-Suite with walk-in shower is flooded with the natural light via two roof-lights that are within a sloped roof.
Space around the new staircase in the loft is filled with built-in joinery and access to the rest of the existing attic. Additional roof-light brighten up the whole space around the new stairs. External cladding is to match existing roof tiles.

This loft apartment in London which features an openable skylight to the new roof terrace was designed to create a spacious home for a single professional.
Sinclair loft is a renovated two-storey apartment within a Shepherds Bush Conservation area, comprising a spacious living area on the loft level. Steps lead from the first floor up to a new roof terrace area, connecting all floors and bringing new light into the flat.
The design proposal was to transform the 98sqm home after finding that the existing layout was 'not functioning as a good domestic space anymore'. Prior to the renovation, it comprised a bedroom and outdated bathroom on the first floor and bedroom, a small kitchen and a separate living area on the loft that lacked openness to the whole space.
The whole space has been stripped back and a series of built-in units have been added to improve the overall layout including a new roof terrace with a large openable skylight above the new staircase.
Among these additions is a new timber floor which features a new Kitchen and Living area. The continuous wooden floor organizes the vastness of the open living room, providing an edge for more intimate furniture arrangement and artwork collected throughout the client’s life.
The first floor comprises of Bedroom and a Bathroom that has a more traditional character. Master Bedroom in the loft has a more contemporary character with built-in open wardrobes as a connection to an En-suite with a spacious walk-in shower.
A new staircase and large openable skylight lead to the roof terrace that providing a spectacular view over the west London panorama.
